Freshman Chelsea Cooper (West Monroe, N.Y./ Altmar-Parish-Williamstown) finished as the top finisher for the Keuka College women's cross country team for the fifth straight meet as Keuka competed in Saturday's annual Cazenovia College Homecoming Invitational in Cazenovia, N.Y.
Cooper earned her second top-10 finish this year, placing sixth among scoring runners with a time of 21 minutes and 31 seconds on the 5 kilometer course as the Wolfpack scored 94 points to place fourth out of six teams.
LeMoyne's Jeanette Cudney won the individual title in a time of 20:25, more than 30 seconds faster than Shelby McIntyre (Cazenovia).
LeMoyne placed all five scoring runners in the top eight and won the team title with a score of 25. Host Cazenovia (66) came in second place, followed by Paul Smith's College (75), Keuka, Morrisville State (108) and LeMoyne's "B" team (188).
Freshman Mariah Sergent (Clifton Springs, N.Y./Midlakes) was Keuka's second-fastest finisher, completing the course in 22:31 to place 13th among scoring runners. It was her highest-ever finish in five competitions for Keuka.
Junior Allison Bonin (Orwell, Pa./Northeast Bradford) placed 20th with a time of 23:45. Classmate Jennifer Vigo (Watervilet, Pa./Shaker) was 27th with a time of 25:33, while junior Lila Barbero (Rochester, N.Y./Mercy) rounded out Keuka's top five finishers, placing 28th after completing the course in 25:48.
The competition drew 59 runners from eight schools.
The Green and Gold take a week off before competing in the annual CCOC Championships, Saturday, Oct. 18 at Seneca Lake State Park in Geneva, N.Y.
