Freshman Victoria Grisdale (Hilton, NY/Hilton) set a season-best for a 5K race to lead the Keuka College women's cross country team at the annual CCOC Championships at Seneca Lake State Park in Geneva, N.Y. Saturday.
Grisdale took first among the Storm's student-athletes for the fifth straight meet.
In a field of 137 runners, Grisdale completed the course in a time of 21 minutes and 47 seconds, trimming 30 seconds off of her previous season-best 5K time. Grisdale placed 37th among scoring runners as the Storm scored 315 points.
Four of the Storm's top five finishers ran their fastest 5K's of the season during the CCOC Championships.
Hartwick College won the team title by scoring 78 points, followed by SUNY ESF (80), Clarkson (87), William Smith College (126), Morrisville State (132), Wells College (161), SUNY Canton (226), Cazenovia College (227), D'Youville College (238), Medaille College (249), Potsdam State (275), Hilbert College (289) and the Storm.
Hartwick's Victoria Hathaway won the individual title in a time of 19:35, 10 seconds faster than runner-up Sarah Governale of Clarkson.
For the fourth straight meet, sophomore Allison Bonin (Orwell, Pa./Northeast Bradford) was Keuka's second fastest runner, racing in 23:17 to place 57th among scoring runners.
Sophomore Jennifer Vigo (Watervilet, NY/Shaker) set a season-best in the 5K, racing in 25:05 to place 70th after taking 42 seconds off her previous season-low time.
Ryan shaved 54 seconds off her season-best 5K time while Jones trimmed 16 seconds off her previous best 5K race.
Keuka takes a week off before closing the season with the annual NEAC Championships (Nov. 2).
