The Keuka College women's cross country team traveled to the annual Roberts Wesleyan Talon Invitational, and the Storm placed fourth on the 3.2K course in Chili, N.Y.
Freshman Victoria Grisdale (Hilton, NY/Hilton) took first among the Storm's student-athletes for the first time in her Keuka career. Grisdale placed 20th among scoring runners with a time of 13 minutes, 49 seconds as the Storm scored 116 points.
Grisdale narrowly edged out sophomore Allison Bonin (Orwell, Pa./Northeast Bradford) by four seconds for first among the Storm's runners. Bonin raced in 13:53 to place 21st among scoring runners.
Host Roberts Wesleyan College won the women's team title with 18 points, followed by Daemen College (52), Houghton College (72) and the Storm.
Roberts Wesleyan had five of the top six finishers, led by Rachel Prutsman, who won the race in 11:19, besting the field of 47 runners.
Sophomore Jennifer Vigo (Watervilet, NY/Shaker) was 24th in a time of 15:53, junior Elizabeth Ryan (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) was 25th with a time of 15:59 and sophomore Caitlin Jones (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport) finished 26th with a time of 16:01.
After the Roberts Wesleyan Invite, Keuka will compete at Hobart College (Sept. 21), SUNYIT (Sept. 28) and Cazenovia (Oct. 5) before closing with the annual CCOC Championships (Oct. 19) and the NEAC Championships (Nov. 2).
