The Keuka College women's cross country team traveled to Oswego for the always-challenging Oswego State Invitational, and the Storm placed 11th out of 12 teams on the 5K course in Oswego, N.Y.
Sophomore Allison Bonin (Orwell, Pa./Northeast Bradford) earned the fastest finish by a Keuka student-athlete, completing the course in 22 minutes and 45 seconds to place 60th among scoring runners.
The Storm's runners scored 348 points in the season-opening meet.
Ithaca College won the team title by placing four runners in the top six and scored 26 points. SUNY Cortland was second with 43, followed by the University of Rochester (77), Oswego State (127), St. John Fisher College (127), William Smith (189), SUNY ESF (212), Wells College (230), Morrisville State (236), SUNY Potsdam (293), Keuka and SUNYIT (365).
Cortland senior Emily Cotey raced in 18:40 to win by eight seconds in a field that featured 14 schools and 162 runners.
Freshman Victoria Grisdale (Hilton, NY/Hilton) placed second among the Storm's runners, racing in 23:22 to finish 63rd among scoring runners.
Sophomore Caitlin Jones (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport) finished 73rd with a time of 26:18, followed by sophomore Jennifer Vigo (Watervilet, NY/Shaker), who was 75th with a time of 26:26 and junior Elizabeth Ryan (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes), who was 77th with a time of 28:03.
After the Oswego Invite, Keuka will compete at Roberts Wesleyan (Sept. 14), Hobart College (Sept. 21), SUNYIT (Sept. 28) and Cazenovia (Oct. 5) before closing with the annual CCOC Championships (Oct. 19) and the NEAC Championships (Nov. 2).
