MARCY, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team lost to Morrisville State, but rebounded to defeat SUNY Cobleskill in a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference games at SUNY Poly on Saturday.
The Wolves (12-9, 7-5 NEAC) will play their final conference regular season game of the season on Sunday against the host school of the weekend, SUNY Poly.
In the first match of the day against Morrisville State, the Wolves dropped the opening set 25-17, but rallied for a 25-23 second set victory, leveling the match. The Mustangs controlled the fourth set 25-13, and defeated Keuka College 25-20 in the fourth set, winning the match 3-0.
Meghan Calhoun led the Wolves with 11 kills against the Mustangs. Alyssa Rex recorded 28 assists in the match. Tying for the team lead in digs was Emily Cottrell and Brittany Vergason, each finishing with 10 digs apiece.
Against SUNY Cobleskill in the nightcap, Keuka College got out to an early lead. The Wolves defeated the Fighting Tigers 25-14 in the opening set and backed that up with a 25-11 win in set two. Keuka College completed the sweep, winning the third and final set 25-17.
The offense was spread out for Keuka College, with seven different players recording kills. Tally McDonald had a team-leading nine in the match. Alyssa Rex finished with 26 assists and Kate Burke added a match-high 13 digs.
