Wolves Split Women’s Volleyball Matches at SUNY Canton

CANTON, N.Y.  – The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team defeated Hartwick College in five sets, but were defeated in three sets to the host school, SUNY Canton.

The Wolves (9-5, 5-2 NEAC) will next face Wells College on Tuesday at home.

The first match against Hartwick was extremely competitive and had to be decided in five sets. After Hartwick won the first set, Keuka responded with a convincing 25-16 win in the second. The match went back and forth, until Keuka was able to pull out a 15-10 win, in the final set. Meghan Calhoun and Katelyn Warren both led the Wolves with twelve kills each. Rachel Elliot also added eight kills in the win. Alyssa Rex  had 43 assists in the match and Kate Burke  and Rachel Bartosz led Keuka with 12 digs each.

In the second match of the day, Keuka would not have as much success. The Kangaroos of SUNY Canton came out strong and won the first set 25-12. The Wolves fought hard in the second set, but weren't able to tie things up. SUNY Canton ended the last set strongly, and won 25-15. Calhoun had another strong performance against Canton, and finished with 11 kills. Rex was again the leader in assists with 11, and Burke had 7 digs for the Wolves.

For her performance throughout the day, Calhoun was named to the All-Tournament Team.
