KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team fell to Penn St.-Berks in four sets to start the day, but finished it with a four set win over Lancaster Bible College on Saturday in a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference matches at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
The Wolves (7-4, 4-2 NEAC) will continue North Eastern Athletic Conference play on Wednesday as they travel to Cazenovia College to face the Wildcats.
In the first match of the day, Keuka College fell behind early, but mounted a comeback in the first set. The Green and Gold won the final six points of the set to win the first set 26-24. The roles were reversed in the second as Penn St.-Berks was behind and rallied for the 25-22 victory. The Nittany Lions used that momentum to win the third set 25-20 and fourth 25-21 for the 3-1 match victory.
In game two against Lancaster Bible College, the Green and Gold fell behind early, losing the first set 25-15. The Wolves rallied to win the second set 25, 21, winning it on an ace by Kate Burke. The Chargers opened the third set with an 8-2 lead, but Keuka rallied for seven straight points to take the lead in the set. Keuka would continue that momentum, defeating Lancaster Bible 25-16 in the third set. The fourth set was tied at 16-16. Keuka scored seven straight to stake a lead. The Wolves scored nine of the final 11 points to defeat the Chargers 25-18 in the fourth set, winning the match 3-1.
