Women’s Volleyball Splits Matches on Halloween

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. -- The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team defeated Morrisville State, but fell to the College at Brockport on Saturday in their final two matches of the regular season.

Keuka (11-16, 8-4 NEAC) will now prepare for the North Eastern Athletic Conference tournament next weekend. They will be the five seed in the tournament and face Penn St.-Berks in the opening round on Friday night, November 6 at 7:30pm. The tournament will be hosted by SUNY Poly.

The Green and Gold used a dramatic comeback to take the first set and set the tone against Morrisville State (11-19). Katelyn Warren served out the final four points to give Keuka a 26-24 come from behind win in the first set. That win propelled the Green and Gold onto the three set sweep over the Mustangs.

Warren finished with a team-leading eight kills in the match. Keuka had a balanced attack as Jadine Buddingh, Tally McDonald, and Rachel Elliot each had six kills. Alyssa Rex helped facilitate the offense with 35 assists in the win.

The second match of the day did not go as favorably for Keuka. The Green and Gold fell to the College of Brockport (31-1) in straight sets. Meghan Calhoun led Keuka with eight kills in the match. Rex totaled 22 assists in the loss.
