Women’s Volleyball Takes Pair of NEAC Matches

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. -- The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team defeated both Penn St.-Abington and the College of St. Elizabeth on Saturday in a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference matches played at Cazenovia College.

Keuka (9-15, 7-4 NEAC) downed Penn St.-Abington in three sets in the opening match. They used an impressive third set that saw 11 kills against only one error to close the match.  Lauren Moelbert led the Green and Gold with 11 kills. The Keuka defense played well keeping attacks by the Nittany Lions alive. Emily Cottrell had a team and career-high 20 digs. Kate Burke added 17 digs in the win. Alyssa Rex finished with 24 assists for Keuka.

The Green and Gold carried their momentum into the match with the College of St. Elizabeth. Keuka won the opening set 25-9 on their way to a three set victory over the Eagles. Moelbert was tied for the team lead in kills in the second match with  Jadine Buddingh. They each had nine in the win for Keuka. Rex had 18 assists and Burke finished with a match-high 14 digs.

Keuka College will play their final North Eastern Athletic Conference match on Sunday. The Green and Gold will face Bryn Athyn College at noon. The match will once again be played at Cazenovia College.
