HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team won a back and forth match over host Hilbert College. The teams alternated sets with the Wolfpack winning the first, third and decisive fifth for the 3-2 victory.
Jadine Buddingh led Keuka (1-1) with match-high 14 kills. She also led the teams in hitting percentage, converting on 27% of her attempts. Katelyn Warren added nine kills. The Keuka offense was spread amongst their freshmen setters. Alyssa Rex had 16 assists and Anna Smith added 11. Libero Kate Burke led the defensive efforts with 17 digs.
Keuka College won the first set 25-19. They attempted a comeback in the second set, drawing the score even at 24, but Hilbert (0-3) won it 26-24. The third set was all Keuka, winning it 25-14. After dropping the fourth set 25-21, Keuka took the fifth and final set 15-11, winning the final point on an ace. The Wolfpack held a 16-8 advantage in aces over the Hawks. Anna Smith led the team with four in the match.
The Wolfpack will return home for their next match on Friday, September 11 as they face Elmira College. The match with the Soaring Eagles is set to start at 6pm.
