KEUKA PARK, N.Y. -- Keuka College's Women's Volleyball team lost their home opener on Tuesday night to the Rochester Institute of Technology. The Tigers took the match in 3 sets, 25-20, 25-11, 25-13.
Sophomore Jadine Buddingh led Keuka (0-1) with eight kills and eight digs on the night. She also added a pair of aces for 10 total points. Meghan Calhoun added three kills for the Wolfpack and Kate Burke finished with seven digs. Sarah Szybist had a match-high 15 kills for RIT (1-0).
Keuka will return to the court this Saturday as they travel to Hamburg, N.Y. to face Hilbert College. The match with the Eagles is set to start at 1pm.
Keuka and RIT opened their 2015 campaigns with a back and forth first game. The Tigers held the lead early. An ace by Jadine Buddingh drew the margin back to one with the game at 14-13. RIT would answer and grow their lead out to eight thanks to an 8-1 run. Keuka continued to fight in the game, but a late error gave RIT the first game 25-20.
RIT took control of the second and third games. Keuka managed just 24 points combined in the final two games. The Tigers won the second game 25-11 and the third game 25-13.
