Women’s Volleyball Splits at NEAC Crossover

The Keuka College women's volleyball team swept Bryn Athyn College before being swept by Penn State-Berks on day one of the third and final North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) crossover competition Saturday in Reading, Pa.

The Wolfpack (10-12, 8-1 NEAC) suffered their first conference loss of the year with the sweep by Berks. Keuka fell by scores of 25-20, 25-19 and 25-19.

Earlier in the day, Keuka swept Bryn Athyn by scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-13.

In the win over Bryn Athyn, sophomore Tally McDonald (Romulus, N.Y./Romulus) recorded seven kills with no errors on 10 attempts for a career-high .700 hitting percentage.

Senior Devan Curtis (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente) added 7 digs with a career-high 7 aces and 6 kills, and freshman Katelyn Warren (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas A. Edison) added 4 kills with 3 aces and 2 blocks in the loss.

Sophomore Alissa Walruth (Hammondsport, N.Y./Hammondsport) added five digs with four aces as the Wolfpack hammered home 17 aces, the second-most in a match this year.

Against Berks, McDonald recorded seven kills with two blocks, Warren had 5 kills, 3 blocks and 2 digs, Curtis added 5 kills with 5 digs and 3 blocks, and freshman Jadine Buddingh (Hamilton, Ont./Mere Theresa) added six kills with four digs in the loss.

Senior Rachel Parker (Chaumont, N.Y./Thousand Islands) had 13 assists with 4 digs and 2 aces, classmate Julia Coryell (Phelps, N.Y./Midlakes) added 11 assists with 4 digs and 4 aces, and sophomore Kaitlin Burke (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning West) had 13 digs for the Green and Gold.

On day two of the third NEAC crossover, the Wolfpack will play defending NEAC champion Gallaudet (D.C.) University at 10 a.m., and Penn College at 2 p.m. Sunday.
