Women’s Soccer Continues to Roll Against Abington

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Soccer team extended their winning streak to 12 games, defeated Penn St.-Abington 2-0 at home on Saturday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game.

Julia Oglesby scored in each half to guide Keuka College (12-3, 9-0 NEAC). Jessica Pegg made four saves in goal for the shutout.

After a slow start where both teams battled for possession, Keuka College began to settle with the ball and pressure the Nittany Lion goal. The Green and Gold pushed ahead in the 24th minute as Oglesby beat the keeper to make it 1-0 Wolves. Keuka would outshoot Abington 13-2 in the half and remained ahead 1-0 at the break.

The Green and Gold continued to retain possession in the second. Minutes into the frame, Emily McGuigan slid the ball from the right to Oglesby in the box. The sophomore beat the goalie for the second time on Saturday as the Wolves doubled their lead. Oglesby's second would cap the scoring for the Wolves as Keuka College saw the game out for the 2-0 conference victory.

  • Keuka College improves to 5-1-1 at home against the Nittany Lions. The Wolves lead the all-time series 7-4-1 overall
  • It was the seventh win at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex this season for the Wolves, tying the school record for the most home wins in a season

Up Next for Keuka College: The regular season concludes with a road NEAC doubleheader for the Wolves. The weekend will open with a battle for first place as Keuka College plays at Penn St.-Berks in Friday in a rematch of the 2018 NEAC Championship game. The Wolves will then close the regular season on Saturday on the road at Penn College.
