Keuka College Wins 10th Straight; Defeated Penn College 3-0

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Soccer team extended their program-record winning streak to 10 games as the Wolves defeated Penn College 3-0 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex on Saturday.

Keuka College (11-3, 9-0 NEAC) got an early goal by senior Brooke Guernsey that proved to be the game-winner. Grace Wolf and Kelsey Maurer added second half goals for the Wolves.

The Wolves would take the early lead on Saturday, scoring in the opening 10 minutes of action. A through ball was played into Emily McGuigan as the junior got behind the Wildcat back line. She also beat the keeper to the ball as her shot rolled towards the left post. Brooke Guernsey was there at the line to hit the ball home as the Wolves took a 1-0 advantage. Penn College would have five shots in the frame but Jessica Pegg was only called upon for one save as the Wolves led 1-0 at the break.

Keuka College controlled possession in the second half and dictated the play against the Wildcats. The Green and Gold doubled their lead in the 67th minute. Grace Wolf got the ball 25 yards from goal and dribbled in on goal. The freshman cut past the keeper and kicked the ball into the open goal for the 2-0 lead. Keuka College continued to threaten the goal. The Wolves added a late tally by Kelsey Maurer as Keuka College defeated Penn College on Saturday.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves are back in action on Sunday as they host Penn St.-Berks at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. Berks holds a 9-0 record in the conference as well. The winner of Sunday's matchup will clinch the 2018 North Eastern Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship.
