KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Soccer team secured their first North Eastern Athletic Conference win of the season on Saturday, defeating Wells College 2-0.
Danielle Desimone scored her first collegiate goal in the 46th minute to give Keuka College the lead. She then assisted on a goal minutes later by Hannah Dalle. Kenna Kosinski made five saves in the shutout.
Keuka will take to the road on Wednesday. Keuka College will face Cazenovia College in an NEAC matchup at 5pm.
Keuka College looked to assert the pace of play in the first half against the Express. Keuka had the advantage in shots in the half, 7-3. Keuka was able to control possession in Wells' end, having the advantage in corner kicks 4-0. Every Wolfpack attempt on goal, however, was either saved or slid wide of goal. The two teams entered the halftime break with the game scoreless.
Keuka did not wait long in the second half to get on the board. Keuka scored 46 seconds into the half, freshman Danielle Desimone sent a ball into the box, towards the back post. The ball caromed off the left post and landed into the net to give the Wolfpack the 1-0 lead. Keuka College doubled up minutes later. Desimone crossed the ball from the right side and found Hannah Dalle on a near-post run. The senior finished her shot for the 2-0 advantage. The Green and Gold played out the final 40 minutes, preserving the shutout, on their way to the 2-0 victory.
