Step Team Senior Salute - Dominque Curry

Step Team Senior Salute - Dominque Curry

Name: Dominque Curry

Hometown/High School: Catskill, N.Y. / Catskill

Major: Criminology/Criminal Justice

Plans for next year: My plan is to get right into the workforce

Career goal: Working for the FBI in the Homicide Unit

Favorite memory with the team: My favorite memory of the team would have to come from last year. Showcase was coming up and we were all stressed out but for some reason everyone on the team knew the step that Fatia and I had made up and when we were practicing everyone joined in and we all just started laughing. I could really feel the bond between the team and we all needed that good laugh

Other activities at Keuka College: President of the Multicultural Student Association, Secretary of Student Senate, and New Student Mentor

What advice would give to freshmen on the team: My advice to the freshman on the team is keep your head up. You are the future of this team and make sure you make a mark on that gym floor!

What would you tell someone looking at Keuka College: Join the step team. Not only will you learn how to step and be on a team, you will gain a second family where you can always be yourself

What does it mean to be of the #KCFamily: To be apart of #KCFamily means a number of things to me. I would not have asked for my experience to be any different. Being apart of this family has made me realized that I love being involved as much as I can. Because it is such a small community you can really get to know one another who is apart of the community, and when disaster strike everyone comes together to comfort one another especially the faculty and staff.

From Coach Broadhurst: Dom has not only been an awesome member of the step team for the past three years, but she has made an incredible impact across campus with her leadership roles in MSA and Student Senate. She has always been a hard worker with a great attitude and amazing stepping abilities. Having her on the team has been wonderful and we don't want to see her leave, but are proud of all she has accomplished!

A message from Dominque: There are to many staff who have helped made my experience and helped me grow as a leader. I just would like to say thank you for making my past four years here at Keuka enjoyable and thank you for always offering a helping hand

Our seniors had their Keuka College spring season cut short because of the global pandemic. Over the next several weeks we will take the opportunity to thank and honor each of these seniors who demonstrated such strength, dedication and support to their sport, to Keuka College Athletics and throughout their time at Keuka College. We are so proud to have them as part of our #KCFamily and we can't wait to see what they do next!  #gratitudeforKCSeniors2020
