GREENWOOD, Ind. — For the second straight season, Keuka College Softball's Jessie Hammers was named First Team Division III Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Due to the global pandemic, this year's recognitions from CoSIDA looked at the overall career of the student-athlete. The numbers for Hammers speak for themselves. The senior set the Keuka College record with a .452 career batting average and a .480 career on-base percentage. Hammers has 149 hits in 101 games. She will graduate from Keuka College second on the list for career hits, a mark she would have claimed had the spring season been played in full.
The honor is a part of CoSIDA's Academic All-America program. District 3 consists of all the Division III schools in New York State. Hammers will now continue onto the national ballot to be named Academic All-America.
Jessie Hammers has excelled in the classroom as well as on the softball diamond. She currently has a 3.65 grade point average. She is planning on completing her Masters in Occupational Therapy from Keuka College next year.
