KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Softball team swept a North Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader against Gallaudet University of Sunday at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
Keuka College (11-7, 8-2 NEAC) won the opening game against the Bison 11-2 in five innings. In game two, Shannon Johnson doubled home Danielle Bosch in the sixth ended to end the game with an 11-3 Keuka College victory.
Keuka College 10 vs. Gallaudet University 2 – 5 innings
The Green and Gold added to the lead with two runs in the second and then four more in the third. Brittany Vergason had an RBI double for Keuka in the third and Mickenzie Palmer, Janessa Vaadi, and Danielle Bosch each had RBI singles in the inning.
Gallaudet scored a run in the fourth and fifth, but it was not enough to extend the game as the Wolves on the opener 10-2 in five innings.
Lead Wolf: Mickenzie Palmer went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Wolves with a walk. Palmer singled and doubled against the Bison. She drove in three runs and scored a pair herself.
Keuka College 11 vs. Gallaudet University 3 – 6 innings
Gallaudet scored first with a run in the first inning, but the Green and Gold quickly took the lead back in the bottom of the frame with a pair of runs. The Wolves added a run in the third, but the Bison answered to make it 3-2.
Keuka College extended the lead in the fourth. Shannon Johnson had an RBI single. Hayley Gorges brought home a run on a groundout and Brittany Vergason scored one on a single as the Wolves took a 6-2 lead.
After the Bison responded with one run in the top of the fifth, the Wolves scored four in the bottom of the inning to make it 10-3. Keuka College ended the game in the sixth on the walk-off double by Shannon Johnson, giving the Wolves an 11-3 victory.
Lead Wolf: Shannon Johnson had a pair of singles and the game-ending double for the Wolves. The senior drove in a pair of runs for Keuka College and scored a pair as well. Overall on the weekend, Johnson had eight hits and drove in 10 runs for the Wolves.

- It was Keuka's 10th straight win, with eight of the wins being against North Eastern Athletic Conference opponents

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will be on the road for a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheaders this week. The Green and Gold will travel to SUNY Cobleskill on Tuesday and then face the Wildcats of Cazenovia College on Friday.
