Men's Cross Country Places Fifth at Hobart

The Keuka College men's cross country team placed fifth during the annual Hobart Invitational Saturday at Seneca Lake State Park in Geneva, N.Y.

The Wolfpack were led by sophomore Josh Langley (Watkins Glen, N.Y./Watkins Glen), who raced the 8 kilometer course in a time of 31 minutes and four seconds.

Langley, who earned second-team All-NEAC honors in 2013, placed 19th among scoring runners and was the fastest Wolfpack finisher for the second consecutive race this year as the Green and Gold scored 165 points.

SUNY ESF won the team title, placing all five scoring runners in the top seven and finishing with 19 points. Host Hobart (64) was second, followed by Alfred University (67), Morrisville State (100), Keuka College, Wells College (170) and Cazenovia College (176).

Senior Alex Pollinger (Arkport, N.Y./Arkport), making his 2014 debut, was the Wolfpack's second-fastest finisher. Pollinger placed 31st among scoring runners with a time of 33:31.

Freshman Clifford Stevens (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) was 33rd in 33:40, followed by freshman Trevor Alton (Hannibal, N.Y./Hannibal) was 36th in a time of 35:55.

The competition featured 74 runners from seven schools.

The Wolfpack will next compete in the annual Houghton College Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 20.
