Freshman Josh Langley (Watkins Glen, NY/Watkins Glen) won his first collegiate cross country invitational as the Keuka College men's cross country team placed third overall at Saturday's Cazenovia Homecoming Invitational.
Langley, who has been the Storm's fastest student-athlete in all five meets, raced the 8K course in 30 minutes and 26 seconds, besting Mohawk Valley Community College's Stephen Paddock by 25 seconds for the individual title.
Keuka scored 79 points to finish third out of five teams. SUNY OCC won the team title with 31 points, followed by Paul Smith's College (51), Keuka, Bryant & Stratton College (98) and Cazenovia (102).
Langley bested a field of 34 runners to win his first collegiate cross country race.
Junior Adam Starks (Wellsville, NY/Andover) finished 23rd in 36:09 while freshman Garrett Calton (Ogdensburg, NY/Ogdensburg Free Academy) rounded out the Storm's scoring runners by placing 29th by racing in 41:30.
After the Cazenovia Invitational, the Green and Gold will take a week off before closing with the annual CCOC Championships (Oct. 19) and the NEAC Championships (Nov. 2).
