Keuka College's men's cross country team traveled down the road to Geneva, N.Y. to compete in the annual Hobart College Invitational, and the Storm placed sixth on a rainy Saturday morning.
For the third straight race, freshman Josh Langley (Watkins Glen, NY/Watkins Glen) took first among the Storm's student-athletes. In a field of 77 runners, Langley completed the 8K course in a time of 31 minutes and nine seconds at Seneca Lake State Park.
Langley placed 22nd among scoring runners as the Storm scored 153 points.
SUNY ESF won the men's team title with 20 points, followed by SUNYIT (62), host Hobart (72), Morrisville State (116), D'Youville College (131), Keuka and Hilbert College (197).
SUNYIT's Derek Struck won the race with a time of 27:20, besting SUNY ESF's Thomas Arcuri by 13 seconds for first place.
SUNY ESF had seven of the top eight finishers to claim the team championship.
After Langley, junior Alex Pollinger (Arkport, NY/Arkport) placed 24th with a time of 31:49. Junior Bobby Fogle (Lockport, NY/Lockport) placed 28th with a time of 32:34, followed by senior Brian DelPino (Oneida, NY/Oneida), who was 39th with a time 35:55; and junior Adam Starks (Wellsville, NY/Andover), who was 40th in a time of 36:43.
After the Hobart Invitational, the Green and Gold will compete in the annual SUNYIT Wildcat Invitational at 11 a.m. Sept. 28 and at the Cazenovia Invitational (Oct. 5) before closing with the annual CCOC Championships (Oct. 19) and the NEAC Championships (Nov. 2).
