The Keuka College men's cross country team traveled to Oswego for the always-challenging Oswego State Invitational, and the Storm placed 12th out of 13 teams on the 8K course in Oswego, N.Y.
Freshman Josh Langley (Watkins Glen, NY/Watkins Glen) had an impressive debut for the Green and Gold, who scored 354 points collectively. Langley placed 50th among scoring runners with a time of 29 minutes, 16 seconds.
SUNY Cortland won the team title by placing all five runners in the top five and scored 15 points, followed by SUNY ESF (74), the University of Rochester (79), host Oswego State (100), Ithaca College (130), St. John Fisher College (215), SUNYIT (220), Hobart College (222), Syracuse University's club team (292), Onondaga Community College (299), Morrisville State (309), Keuka (354) and SUNY Potsdam (361).
Cortland senior Pat Fannon raced in 25:49 to win in a field that featured 14 schools and 162 runners.
After Langley, junior Alex Pollinger (Arkport, NY/Arkport) recorded a personal best for an 8K with a time of 30:06 to place 61st among scoring runners.
Junior Bobby Fogle (Lockport, NY/Lockport) placed 76th with a time of 32:42; followed by sophomore Rich Matrassi (New York Mills, NY/New York Mills), who was 82nd with a time of 34:26; and junior Adam Starks (Wellsville, NY/Andover), who was 85th with a time of 36:29.
After the Oswego Invite, Keuka will compete at Roberts Wesleyan (Sept. 14), Hobart College (Sept. 21), SUNYIT (Sept. 28) and Cazenovia (Oct. 5) before closing with the annual CCOC Championships (Oct. 19) and the NEAC Championships (Nov. 2).
