Men’s Volleyball Opens NEAC Play with Victory

MORRISTOWN, N.J. — The Keuka College Men's Volleyball team opened North Eastern Athletic Conference play with a three-set victory at the College of St. Elizabeth on Saturday.

Keuka College (3-3, 1-0 NEAC) was led by Alex Boglev with six kills. Christian Nickerson had five kills and Pat Dillon added four kills and four blocks in the win.

The Green and Gold came out fast with a match-high 15 kills in the opening set. The set was capped as Kamren Record set up his twin brother Gavin Record for the kill to win the first set 25-17.

Keuka College continued to play with the lead in the second set. The Wolves scored the last six points of the frame to win the second 25-14, taking a 2-0 lead in the match.

The third set was much tighter as the Eagles held the lead for stretches of time. The set would be tied at 20-20, but the Wolves pulled it out in the end. Nickerson had the ender for the Wolves as Keuka defeated St. Elizabeth 25-21 in the third set, sweeping the match.

KC Notes:

  • Keuka College won at St. Elizabeth for the second consecutive season. It is the only two meetings between the two schools
  • The Wolves had eight blocks as a team
  • The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Wolves
  • Keuka tied its season-high with seven aces against the Eagles. Boglev led the Wolves with a pair of aces with five teammates each recording a single ace
