GANSEVOORT, N.Y. — The North Eastern Athletic Conference named Keuka College senior Nick Cantando as their Men's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
The senior opened the week with 21 digs in a three-set loss to Medaille College. His 21 digs against the Mavericks was a personal season high and set a new school record for the most digs in a three-set match. Cantando then backed that performance up with two quality showings in Keuka's doubleheader at Hiram College. He finished with 14 digs in match one and followed that with 17 digs in match two.
On the season, Nick Cantando ranks second in the NEAC with 220 digs, averaging 2.97 per set. He currently sits in fourth in the single-season digs list at Keuka College. Cantando also ranks fourth in school history for his career dig total of 422.
The Keuka College Men's Volleyball team will play their final games of the regular season this weekend. Keuka College will travel to Lancaster Bible College on Friday night to face the conference-leading Chargers. The Wolves will then visit the College of St. Elizabeth for a showdown with the Eagles on Saturday.
