In a primarily back and forth first set, the Soaring Eagles created separation in the middle of the set, leading by four, before Keuka made a comeback attempt. The Wolves would fall short, however, dropping the first set 25-21. The second set, like the first, started as an even battle. The Soaring Eagles would amass a 22-15 lead and take a 2-0 set lead after winning the second 25-18. In third set, the Wolves would jump out to an early 9-5 lead. Elmira rallied to tie the score at 10-10. The teams stood toe-to-toe from that point until the final point of the set when Elmira College's Jeremy Best got the kill to give the Soaring Eagles a 27-25 win.
Block Party: Sophomore Alex Riley (Fairport, N.Y. / Fairport) continued his strong defensive play for Keuka. He had two solo blocks and two assisted blocks in the match against Elmira. Riley is second on the team with 18 blocks on the season and has recorded at least one in five of the six games Riley has played.
