JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Keuka College Men's Volleyball won both matches on Saturday at New Jersey City University. They defeated the College of Staten Island in straight sets to open the day. Keuka then defeated hosts NJCU in four sets later in the afternoon.
Keuka College (9-5, 4-2 NEAC) will next play in a week, as they host SUNY Poly in a North Eastern Athletic Conference match.
Keuka dominated the opening match from the start. They took the opening set 25-9 and did not look back, winning the final sets 25-20 and 25-13. The Dolphins only managed eight kills against Keuka, who had 25 digs and 5 total team blocks in the match.
The Green and Gold evenly distributed their offense. Leading the way was Aaron Brill. The sophomore had a team-high nine kills. It was the serving of Brill that stood out against Staten Island. He had a career-high seven aces and finished with a match-high 17.5 points. As a team, Keuka had 19 aces in the match. Spencer Avery had five aces to go with his 14 assists. Chris Corcoran led Keuka with 19 assists in the match. Connor Hinman and Tim Jackson each contributed six kills in the victory.
Keuka College dropped the opening set against New Jersey City University 25-23. They had 11 errors in set. The Green and Gold would rally, commit only 12 errors the rest of the match, and win the next three set 25-15, 25-23, and 25-22 to defeat the Gothic Knights 3-1.
Connor Hinman led Keuka with 15 kills. Connor Gail was also in double-digits for the Green and Gold with 10 kills. Aaron Brill continued his strong serving day with four aces and Chris Corcoran had a team-high 23 assists. Cooper Lyon finished the match with 11 digs.
