KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – Seniors accounted for five of Keuka College's six goals as the Men's Soccer team defeated Cazenovia College 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Keuka College (10-3-3, 8-2-3 NEAC) has concluded the regular season and will await the pairings to be announced for the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament, which will start on Tuesday.
Senior Paulin Kolodja had a six-point game for the Wolves, scoring a pair of goals and adding a pair of assists. Fellow senior Rachid Blanken remained tied with Kolodja for the team lead in goals by scoring a pair himself. Both have netted 12 goals this season. Seniors Leandro Curran added a goal, as did freshman Chris Millard. Mike Pastorella had a pair of assists and fellow senior Edler de Castro added one in the win.
Keuka College got out to a strong start against the Wildcats, scoring in the 11th minute. Mike Pastorella beat his defender to the end line, keeping the ball in play. He centered the ball to Rachid Blanken for the early 1-0 lead. Minutes later, Pastorella set up another goal, this time earning the assist with Paulin Kolodja scoring. Midway through the first half, Christian Cupello sent a cross in from the right side. He found the head of Chris Millard on the far post as the freshman scored his third goal of the season. Keuka carried the 3-0 team into the halftime break.
The Wolves continued to attack in the second half. Edler de Castro sent a long chip from midfield that went over the Wildcat defense to Paulin Kolodja who scored his second of the game in the 54th minute. After Cazenovia pulled one back, making it 4-1, the Wolves got a pair of late goals to put the game away. Paulin Kolodja collected his own rebound in the 84th minute and passed it to Blanken, scoring his second of the game. Just over a minute later, Kolodja sprung Leandro Curran on a breakaway. The senior scored as the Green and Gold continued on to the 6-1 victory over Cazenovia College.
