KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Soccer team defeated the College of St. Elizabeth 9-0 on Saturday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference match at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
The Wolves improve their record to 5-2-3 on the season and 3-1-3 in conference play. They will next travel to Penn College to face the Wildcats on Sunday afternoon.
Rachid Blanken recorded a hat trick for Keuka College in the win. Also scoring for the Wolves was Rohel Duncan, Leandro Curran, Paulin Kolodja, Ross Ozzello, Christian Cupello, and Will Condo. Kolodja also added a pair of assist for a four-point game.
Keuka College controlled the flow of play in the first half. Paulin Kolodja attempted to feed a pass through to Leandro Curran in the opening minute. The Eagles defense got in the way of the pass but Kolodja ran onto to the end of his own pass and found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. The Wolves remained in control of the ball but were unable to find the back of the net again until the 16th minute when Curran found the back of the net. Less than a minute later, Chris Millard sent a cross in and found Rohel Duncan for the goal, making it 3-0. A quick one-two pass between Kolodja and Rachid Blanken gave the Green and Gold a 4-0 lead halfway through the first. The game would remain 4-0 at halftime.
The Wolves once again scored quickly in the second half. A long ball found the head of Paulin Kolodja in the middle of the box. He nodded it to the back post where Blanken hit it home for his second of the game. Another header gave the Green and Gold their sixth goal. Sean Pasono sent a free kick into the box and Christian Cupello headed it home, scoring his first career-goal. Minutes later, Blanken scored his third to complete the hat trick and give Keuka a 7-0 lead. Also scoring career-first goals was Ross Ozzello and Will Condo as Keuka College continued on to defeat St. Elizabeth 9-0.
