KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Soccer team defeated Hilbert College 6-0 on Wednesday night in the Wolves' home opener at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
Keuka College (2-1) will open their North Eastern Athletic Conference schedule this weekend as they travel to Wells College to take on the Express at 2pm on Sunday.
Senior Paulin Kolodja had a career-high five point game for the Green and Gold, scoring a goal and assisting on three others. Sean Pasono scored his first two goals in a Keuka College uniform. Also scoring for the Wolves was Edler de Castro, Humberto Flores, and Claude Tuyishimire.
The Wolves came out fast against the Hawks, controlling the play in the opening minutes. Keuka threatened the goal off of early corner kicks. One found Ben Geloso who rattled a shot off the left post. The rebound found the foot of Edler de Castro who hit it home for the 1-0 lead in the 7th minute. Hilbert increased their attack, but that opened the door for the Wolves on the counter. They broke down in the 25th minute. Mike Pastorella took the ball and hit a diagonal pass to Paulin Kolodja. The senior slotted it into the lower right corner of the net for the 2-0 advantage. The Green and Gold continued their attack with Sean Pasono scoring his first goal of the year and Humberto Flores netted his second of the year. With seven minutes left in the half, Sean Pasono bent a free kick from the left side to the near post for his second goal of the half to give Keuka College a 5-0 lead at the break.
Keuka College played the second half primarily on the front foot, attacking the Hawks goal. In the 51st minute, Paulin Kolodja took a free kick from the left side, a few steps closer than the corner. He found Claude Tuyishimire streaking to the back post for the goal as Keuka continued onto the 6-0 victory.
