Keuka College Downed by Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Soccer team fell to hosts University of Rochester by the score of 8-1 in the UR Flower City Classic on Sunday afternoon.

The Wolves (1-1) return home to the Jephson Community Athletic Complex on Wednesday, September 7 as they play Hilbert College under the lights with a 7pm kickoff.

Paulin Kolodja scored the lone goal for Keuka College against the Yellowjackets on Sunday, his second in as many games.

The University of Rochester controlled the chances in the first half, outshooting Keuka 13-0. In the 8th minute, the Yellowjackets broke through with a goal. They added two goals within a minute and seven seconds midway through the half to make it 3-0. Rochester added to their lead later in the half and carried a 6-0 advantage into halftime.

The Green and Gold were able to increase the offensive pressure in the second half.  Mike Pastorella chipped a pass over the back line and found the foot of Claude Tuyishimire. The freshman's shot was deflected by the defender wide of the net. Minutes later, Paulin Kolodja sent a free kick in from the right wing and found the head of Edler de Castro open in the middle of the box, but it was sent over the crossbar. In the 84th minute, Paulin Kolodja took a free kick straight on from the net. He sent a curved right footed shot to the right side of the net to give Keuka their lone goal of the afternoon.
