Wolves Down St. John Fisher in Season Opener

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Soccer team had an impressive start to their season as they defeated St. John Fisher College 4-1 in the first game of the UR Flower City Classic at the University of Rochester.

The Wolves (1-0) will face the host Yellowjackets on Saturday afternoon in Rochester for the tournament title.

Senior  Paulin Kolodja scored for Keuka College, as did senior Mike Pastorella and freshmen Humberto Flores and Claude Tuyishimire. It was the first collegiate goals for Pastorella, Flores, and Tuyishimire. Willie Romaro got the win in goal for the Wolves.

The Green and Gold struck first against the Cardinals. Rachid Blanken chipped a ball over the Fisher defense and found Kolodja for the game in the 14th minute. Keuka added to their lead in the 16th minute while Mike Pastorella slotted home the ball following a scramble in front of the goal. The Wolves took a 3-0 lead in the 32nd minute. Will Condo took the ball down the middle of the field and slid a through ball to the right to find Humberto Flores. The freshman shot back across the goal to the far post and Keuka was in control at halftime.

Claude Tuyishimire added to the lead with a second half goal off of a rebound. St. John Fisher got on the board in the 81st minute, but it was not enough as Keuka continued onto the 4-1 victory.
