Senior Austin Gerber (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) scored two goals and sophomores Zach Briggs (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) and Leandro Curran (New York, NY/Westlake) each added goals as the Keuka College men's soccer team blanked SUNY Cobleskill 4-0 Saturday afternoon.

Four different student-athletes had assists in the win, as juniors Matt Hey (Rushville, N.Y./Marcus Whitman) and Ben Schreiber (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) had assists, as did sophomore Paulin Kolodja (Rochester, N.Y./Aquinas) and freshman Romeo Katanga (Manchester, N.H./Manchester).

Goalies Preston Vick (Kendall, N.Y./Kendall), Josh Rasmussen (Troy, N.Y./Troy) and Willie Romero (Jersey City, N.J./Union City) combined on the shutout, the third in the last six games for the Green and Gold.

Keuka College (6-2-1, 3-1-1 NEAC) enjoyed a 27-1 edge in shots against the Fighting Tigers (3-6, 2-3 NEAC).

The Green and Gold struck quickly for the first goal of the game when Katanga hit Gerber with a through ball. Gerber slotted his shot to the near post just three minutes and 25 seconds into the contest.

Keuka's lead was 2-0 after Kolodja played a through ball in for Curran, who went on a breakaway and scored towards the near post in the 19th minute.

Neither school scored during the remainder of the opening half, but like they did in the first half, Keuka didn't waste much time in scoring in the second half.

Five minutes into the second, Schreiber played an accurate crossing pass inside the box to Gerber, who pushed his shot towards the far post for his team-leading 11th goal in the 50th minute.

Keuka College capped the scoring in the 65th minute. Off a flip throw-in from Hey, Briggs sent his header into the upper right corner of the goal for a 4-0 lead, and Keuka maintained the shutout.

The Green and Gold host SUNY ESF at 7 p.m. Wednesday night in a non-conference showdown.
