ALFRED, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Lacrosse team overcame a 7-4 halftime deficit to defeat Alfred State 15-10 in their first game of the 2018 season.

The Wolves scored the first goal of the season 35 seconds into the game as Seth Bush found the back of the net. The Pioneers scored three straight, but freshman Kasey Gallina found the back of the net with 41 seconds left to play. Alfred State led 3-2 after the first quarter.
The Wolves would tie the game at 4-4 on a man-down goal by Tyler Andrews, but the Pioneers answered. Alfred State scored the final three goals of the half to lead 7-4 at the half.
After the Pioneers scored, the Wolves went on a run. Craig Gerhardt had a pair of goals sandwiching the second of the game by Bush as the Wolves cut the margin to one, 8-7. The teams would trade goals in the final minutes as the game went to the final quarter with Alfred State leading 9-8.
The fourth quarter started with a man-up goal for the Wolves by Andrew Burns. That kicked off a five goal run for Keuka with Burns scoring three and Seth Bust adding a pair. After Alfred State scored a goal to stop the run, Keuka College scored a pair in the final two minutes to secure the 15-10 victory.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will open their home slate next weekend as Keuka College hosts Elmira College at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center. Keuka College has won four straight against the Soaring Eagles, including a 15-4 victory last season.
