COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Lacrosse team remained unbeaten in North Eastern Athletic Conference play as they defeated hosts SUNY Cobleskill 19-5 on Saturday.
Keuka College (8-1, 4-0 NEAC) will return home on Tuesday as they host Wells College at 4pm.
Matt Beebe led Keuka on Saturday with four goals and three assists for seven points. Tyler Skowronski, Jordan Porter-Lemon, and Ryan Waldron all added hat tricks in the win. Zach Dempsey added two goals for Keuka. Rounding out the scoring with a goal apiece was Brendan King, Patrick Giardino, Sam Cooper, and Cody Nitzke.
Keuka got out to a 2-0 lead over the Fighting Tigers thanks to goals by Waldron and Beebe in the opening minutes. SUNY Cobleskill found the back of the net twice in the final five minutes of the first to tie the game at 2-2 following the opening 15 minutes.
Keuka College's offense came alive in the second. They kept possession at the quarter break on the man-up. Patrick Giardino scored 15 seconds into the quarter with the man-up for the 3-2 lead. That sparked the attack as Keuka would outscore SUNY Cobleskill 10-0 in the second and hold a 12-2 halftime lead.
The Green and Gold blanked the Fighting Tigers in the third quarter as well. Goals by Porter-Lemon, Cooper, Beebe, and Dempsey stretched the Keuka run to 14-0 as they led 16-2 going into the final quarter.
SUNY Cobleskill snapped the run with a goal in the opening seconds. Porter-Lemon scored a pair of goals in the fourth and Zach Dempsey added his second tally of the game. Keuka College continued onto the 19-5 victory.
