Men’s Lacrosse Tops Oswego State 7-5

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Lacrosse team defeated hosts Oswego State on Saturday afternoon by the score of 7-5 in a non-conference game.

Keuka College (4-1) will open North Eastern Athletic Conference play on Wednesday as they travel to Medaille College to take on the Mavericks.

Brendan King tied his career-high with five goals in the game. Ryan Waldron (Clay, N.Y. / Cicero-North Syracuse) and Andrew Burns each added goals in the win. Matt Beebe had a pair of assists against the Lakers. Freshman Kyle Andrake made 12 saves for his second consecutive win.

The Lakers came out strong on their home turf on Saturday. They netted a pair of goals in the opening quarter. Freshman Kyle Andrake made three saves in the opening frame to keep the game at 2-0 after the first 15 minutes.

The offense for the Green and Gold came to life in the second quarter. Ryan Waldron opened the scoring up for Keuka 1:15 into the second quarter. A minute and a half later, Brendan King tied the game up with the assist from Waldron. Andrew Burns and King added goals in the quarter and Keuka went into halftime with a 4-2 lead.

Oswego quickly tied the game in the third with a pair of goals in the opening four minutes of the third. The Green and Gold took a 5-4 lead going into the fourth quarter with a goal by Brendan King.

Keuka got back-to-back goals by King to push the lead to 7-4 halfway through the fourth quarter. Both goals were set up by Matt Beebe. The Lakers got one back with just under four minutes left to play but Keuka held them there for the 7-5 victory.
