Wolves Tee It Up at SUNY Cobleskill Jug Classic

COBLESKILL, N.Y. — The Keuka College Golf teams opened their 2019-20 seasons on Friday at the SUNY Cobleskill Jug Classic at the Cobleskill Golf and Country Club.

It was a strong showing for the Wolves as the Women won the tournament and the Men took second place.

Women's Tournament – Par 71

Lead Wolf: In her first collegiate tournament, Paige Wagner led the Green and Gold with a +37, 108. The junior finished third in the eight-golfer field.

Rest of the Pack: t4. Madison Kittle – 115, +44

6. Shannon Marcy – 123, +52

Men's Tournament – Par 70

Lead Wolf: The reigning North Eastern Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year, Ryan Murrelle, did not show signs of slowing up in his sophomore year. Murrelle led the Wolves and finished second overall, shooting a +6, 76 on Friday.

KC Notes:

  • The second-place finish by the Men's team and Ryan Murrelle tied for the best by Keuka College at the Jug Classic
  • It was the first win for the Keuka College Women's team in four trips to the Jug Classic
  • It was the fifth top-five finish of Murrelle's career, moving him to fifth all-time
  • Clayton Chandler and Greg Palermo each set a new career-low with his rounds of 83 and 86, respectively

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will return home on Wednesday to host the Keuka College Fall Invitational. Both the Men's and Women's teams will be in action at Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yan.
