ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Chapter of the United States Basketball Writers Association announced their annual year-end awards on Thursday and Keuka College was well represented.
From the Keuka College Men's Basketball team, senior Cliff Stevens was named as a Men's Honorable Mention.
Reighly Melochick had an excellent first full season for Keuka College. She led Keuka College with 13.9 points per game while earning Third Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference. Melochick set a new school record with 79 three-pointers made this season and was second in the nation with a 51.3 three-point percentage.
In his first season, Head Coach Gary Broadhurst has led the Wolves to 21 victories and the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship. Broadhurst was named the NEAC Coach of the Year by his peers. Keuka College had their success this season on efficient shooting and quality defense. The Wolves led the league with a 36.5 three-point shooting percentage, 14th best in the nation. They also had the 20th best defense nationally, holding opponents to just 33.1% shooting from the floor.
Junior Lauren Anten has continued her consistent play for the Wolves since coming to Keuka College. She scored a career-best 340 points this season, giving her 884 for her career. She was second on the team with 37 three-pointers and was third with 108 rebounds for the Green and Gold. Anten was awarded at the end of the season by being named Third Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference.
On the men's side, Cliff Stevens saved his best for last with an outstanding senior season. He averaged a career-high 11.6 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game, leading Keuka College in both categories. Stevens was named Third Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference at the end of the 2017-18 season.
