KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost on Wednesday at home to SUNY Geneseo by the score of 5-2.

SUNY Geneseo opened with pressure against the Wolves goal. Goalie Kassidy Valentine stood tall with multiple saves early on. The Knights would eventually find the back of the goal off of a corner as the took a 1-0 lead halfway through the first. The Knights doubled their lead in the half. Overall, Keuka College was outshot 14-0 with Valentine making nine saves in goal for Keuka. The game went to halftime with SUNY Geneseo leading 2-0.
The Wolves would be the ones to strike first in the second half. Keuka College created on opportunity working the ball down the field in transition. Nicole Wilson played the ball ahead to Alyssa Orsino. The senior shot from the middle of the circle, beating the keeper five-hole to make it a 2-1 game. The Knights would quickly re-establish their two-goal lead minutes later. After SUNY Genseo made it 4-1, Nicole Wilson took the restart and raced down the field. The sophomore dibbled through the Knights defense and her shot beat the keeper as she fell to the ground to make it 4-2. SUNY Geneseo would add a late tally as they defeated Keuka College 5-2.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves return to the field this Sunday as a part of Green and Gold Celebration Weekend at Keuka College. The Green and Gold will host the Gators of Sage Colleges at 1pm at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. It will be the first ever field hockey meeting between Keuka and Sage.
