Bowie and Steve Sweep NEAC Honors

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. — Keuka College senior Alec Bowie and freshman Daniel Steve swept the weekly baseball awards presented by the North Eastern Athletic Conference.

Bowie was named the NEAC Player of the Week while Steve earned NEAC Pitcher of the Week honors.

Bowie had a strong week for the Green and Gold as the Wolves went 6-1 on the diamond. He totaled 11 hits on the week while posting a .500 batting average. The senior outfield added nine runs scored for Keuka College. Bowie went 3-3 in Sunday's game one victory at SUNY Cobleskill. He scored three runs in the game and drove in another. He added a walk and two stolen bases in the game against the Fighting Tigers.

Freshman pitcher Daniel Steve made the most of his first NEAC start of his career. Steve pitched a complete game in game two against Cazenovia College on Tuesday. The freshman went all nine innings and struck out seven batters to earn his first collegiate win. Steve then backed that performance up with his second NEAC start over the weekend against SUNY Cobleskill. WE went all five innings of a rain-shortened game, allowing just two hits and striking out five in the victory.

The Keuka College Baseball team closes their regular season at home this week. The Green and Gold host Wells College in a NEAC doubleheader on Tuesday. Keuka College will then host Penn St.-Abington and Penn St.-Berks over the weekend.
