Keuka College Baseball Drops Two Games on Monday

AUBURNDALE, Fla. — The Keuka College Baseball team lost two games on Monday in Florida on their annual spring break trip.

Keuka College (4-6) fell 13-0 to #3 ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater in the first game and then lost to Franklin College 11-6 in the afternoon.

The Warhawks scored a run in the top of the first inning and proceeded to add to their lead in with two runs in each the second, third, and fourth innings. Keuka College was only able to get four hits off of the Warhawks' pitchers. Whitewater scored five runs in the fifth and added one more in the seventh in the 13-0 victory.

Lead Wolf: Both Kyle Colegrove and Tyler Freedman each recorded a hit in their one at-bat.

Franklin College 11 vs. Keuka College 6

The Wolves took a two-run lead in the second inning, but the Grizzlies scored five in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. The Wolves chipped away with a run in the third and then tied it with two runs in the fourth inning. Dakota Skinner singled home a run and the game was later tied on a Franklin error.

Keuka College took a 6-5 lead in the top of the fifth inning as Dave Verrett doubled home Jake Redding. Franklin would respond in the sixth inning as they scored a pair of runs to retake the lead. The Grizzlies then added four insurance runs in the seventh inning as they defeated Keuka College 11-6 in nine innings on Monday.

Lead Wolf: Zach Braster threw 2.2 innings of scoreless relief for Keuka College. The sophomore struck out three batters in the game.

  • Keuka College is 0-2 all-time against Wisconsin-Whitewater
  • The Wolves are 0-6 all-time against ranked teams. They last faced Whitewater when they were ranked #1 in the nation in 2015
  • Monday was the first ever meeting between Keuka College and Franklin College
  • The 12 hits for the Wolves tied for second-most in a game this season for Keuka
